Greenlife Design was developed after Maggie herself experienced symptoms of sick building syndrome which lead to asthma and multiple chemical sensitivities. MCS is characterized by the body’s inability to handle synthetic chemicals and invisible culprits, found in walls, air and electromagnetic fields which all add up to a full rain barrel.
As an interior designer, Maggie realized all the chemicals that are in our homes and workplaces could make us sick! As with all things in life we adapt to our surroundings. Maggies proactive approach has lead to learning more about this condition as well as education in the healthy side of building and why our home and work environments make us sick.
After many doctor’s visits with no real answers, Maggie came across the study of: Bau Biology & Ecology being taught in North America. This has lead to the understanding of what makes us sick in our own environments. Adjustments have been made in my life, and I am feeling so much better, they can be made in yours too. Many friends and colleagues ask questions immediately when they hear of my journey back to health. We are all made specially and individually and different things will bother different people, and the word is out and I am happy to be a part of helping and sharing simple steps to complex issues with all who are ready to try to empty their rain barrel.

Maggie has been a great help and encouragement to our family through our ordeal with mold. We were often times confused as what products to use with our newly-developed chemical sensitivity, but this confusion was much relieved by Maggie's information regarding chemical-free products to use in our home. After our mold remediation she had wonderful recommendations on no-VOC products to use in the repairs in our home. Furthermore, Maggie was able to give us the names of companies specializing in chemical-free beds and furniture, which had become a necessity. We are very thankful for all the invaluable information she has been able to provide us with through this time.
Thank you again for all you do for us!
Love, The Girards
